Observatory Civic Association

The Observatory Civic Association (OCA) works in Observatory as your civic voice. It represents those who live and work in the suburb. Its strength is derived from the involvement of individuals. Membership is a key part of the organization.

The OCA covers the area bordered by the M5, N2, M3 and Browning / Rochester. The residents of the Falmouth, Kotzee, and Molenvliet areas please note that though until the 1990's this area fell within Mowbray it is now for policing, postal and civic purposes Observatory.

The OCA meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 6pm in the Community Centre (corner Collingwood and Lower Main Rds - enter from Collingwood Rd). All meetings are open meetings and you are welcome to attend and contribute.

Rob Gaylard (OCA Social Issues)has taken just taken a further R750 from the sale of meal coupons down to Loaves and Fishes. This is part of the 'Give a Hand Up - and not a Hand Out' intiative of the OCA. The idea is to discourage people from giving cash handouts, which usually benefit local bottlestores.
