| A 19-year-old youth was shot dead in Observatory, Cape Town police said on Tuesday.
Inspector Ian Bennett said the incident occurred in William Street at 8pm on Monday.
"On arrival [police found] the bloodstained body of a 19-year-old male. He had two gun shot wounds to the head."
Apparently the youth and his friend were on their way home, when a vehicle with three occupants pulled up next to them.
"One of the occupants in the car took out a firearm and fired two shots at the deceased fatally wounding him."
The assailants fled the scene in a Blue Toyota Conquest and are still at large.The identity of the youth could not be revealed as his next-of-kin had not yet been informed.
